The entire concept of this is fucked up, both in terms of the hereditary control and the mere existence of a “media empire” to begin with.

Anti-trust law and inheritance tax should have made every single aspect of this impossible.

This really isn’t great news. His son that will be in charge is just as evil. That’s why there was so much in-fighting. I don’t know how much less evil these kids were, but any little bit would have helped.

We should reinstate (and expand) the Fairness Doctrine and hold these megacorp news outlets to fuckin task for their role in all this dogshit we’re sleeping in.

So…the less toxic kids sold out to the more toxic kid, and now we’re fucked for another generation? Cool.

rupert had been fighting to get the “nice” ones removed from his will for a while, im guessing hes threatened to completely cut them off.

Well, to be fair…they were threatening to liquidate their share of the business, which would have resulted in his entire media empire getting chopped into little pieces. The overall state of the world would have been vastly improved if they had been serious.

But, I guess they were just holding out for a higher offer. Too bad.

it will be most likely under his son, LACHLAN murdochs control, since rupert sees him as the successor, and hes even more maga than Murdoch senior.

What do you mean “most likely”? The article literally says it’ll be him.

Lachlan has already been effectively in charge for years anyway.
