Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) inherit a country estate and plan to turn it into a bed-and-breakfast, but they soon realize it is haunted by a great number of previous residents in this comedy based on the BBC series of the same name.
Nothing ground breaking, but a well made show with a nice vibe and humor.
A few episodes go into the background of some ghosts and make their more appealing.
A good show to watch just to unwind.
I haven’t watched it yet because I loved the UK version and am now intimidated by so many episodes per season. I’ve got it in my head (for no good reason) that it must be full of filler content like an 80s sitcom.
Sitcoms are more or less entirely filler. That’s kind of the point
When you look forward to a show all week (like we did back then), make a point to sit down and watch it at the appointed time, and then discover that it’s going to be 24 minutes of clips from other episodes because they used that episode’s budget on sweeps; you learn to prioritize some filler over others.
Not that I think Ghosts is doing clip shows.
They definitely don’t do those kind of fillers
How does it compare to the British show? I watched it, but my partner got bored and I finished it on my own. Is this one a carbon copy or does it branch out on its own more?
I love the US show and could not get into the UK show at all.
They’re very different. The US version is fun and cheerful, while the original just seemed mean. I watched 2 or 3 episodes of the British version before I lost interest. My wife could only do 1 episode.
IDK. This coming from a Unitedstatian, maybe the British find the US version childish or something?
I had the opposite experience. We watched the UK version and really liked it. Tried to watch the US version and couldn’t get into it. Didn’t really like the characters and humor as much. I’m sure whichever version you start with will likely be the one you end up liking the best.

Yeah, that makes sense.
From what I’ve heard, the american version is more lighthearted and has less drama
I haven’t watched the British version, from what I read there are quite different. There is a ghost that is not present in the US version, and apparently quite a few secondary characters were created for the US version.
Hopefully someone who watched both can jump in.
Yeah! Agree. Pretty chill, easy, and entertaining.
