The Samsung Xcover series only killed the headphone jack with release of the Xcover 7 Pro a mere 3 months ago. All this time a series of phones from one of the world’s top brands were available even in the US.

You can get the 2024 model and receive Android updates until 2031 because of Samsung’s 7 years of updates policy. Xcover phones also come with an SD slot and user replaceable battery, btw.

The second line is the argument why all the Ubuntus aren’t for newcomers anymore. Canonical attempts to push users into failed technologies (Snap instead of Flatpak in this case).

So if you want to keep using Kubuntu over something like Fedora KDE, you are expected to learn how steer around these artificial limitations.

Btw, KDE are currently in the process of developing KDE Linux. It is not done, yet, but may be worth to check into from time to time.
