  • If you could add that it would definitely make my day because it’s my biggest gripe with the app. But it definitely should be an option so people who enjoy the current implementation could stick with that.

I also remembered another thing that’s a bit annoying. Sometimes I want to visit specific communities because they’re not popular enough to always pop up in my feed. I’m not sure how you sort the subscription list but it makes no sense to me. I ended up starring the handful of communities I specifically visit because finding them from my subscriptions list was just too much effort. I think it would make sense to have communities in an alphabetical order, first by community name and then by instance name. Not a big issue because I was able to filter out the specific communities I was looking for but still a bit annoying because I first need to find the community before starring it.

Beyond those two things you’ve done an excellent job with the app.

  • I don’t know if I’ve missed some configuration option, but I really don’t like how the current reply works and I would love it to work like it works on most Lemmy apps. You press reply and you get a new view where you only see the comment you want to reply to and then your own reply.

The issue I have with the current reply is that it’s just too small. It’s a third of my screen so not only do I not get a good overview of my reply I also have to scroll a lot just to proofread.

I don’t need to see all the other comments when I replying. Let me focus on the context of why I’m replying and what I’m replying.

  • Depends on how you define wiping the slate clean? Just for the users or also for the hardware and software vendors?

Because the difficulty of Linux comes from the lack of hardware and software support. If you just compare the OS then for the average user there little to no difference in terms of functionality. People probably would ever prefer Linux due to it being just generally faster than Windows. You wouldn’t pay extra to to get something that runs worse.

What people will pay extra for is the guarantee that their hardware and software just works. The only benefit Windows has is that you don’t have to worry if your hardware or software will work because in 99.9% of the time it does and if it doesn’t you can contact support and they won’t instantly tell you your system isn’t supported.

Strictly personal reason. When the lemmy devs asked for monetary donations I voiced my concern with Lemmy.ml, which they also maintain. In response one of the devs called me a cheapskate, so I decided I’m done with Lemmy until more normal people become maintainers

Edit: forgot to add that it wasn’t the only reason. The devs themselves are rather controversial in their beliefs and moderation and I had reluctantly tolerated thoss things up to that point. The dev interaction was simply the last drop in the bucket.

  • You can skip some fights by running past enemies, but if you’re struggling with combat the best solution is to take some time to optimize your builds. The game incentivizes glass cannon builds where you generally kill mobs before they can even attack. If they can’t attack you don’t have to worry about dodging/partying. I won’t give any actual builds, those take too much effort and IMO it’s more fun to figure them out yourself. But I will give some tips to make combat easier.

If you have defensive pictos/lumina equipped swap them for damage or AP.

Don’t be scared to use color of lumina (for more lumina points) as you can get hundreds of them throughout the game. Trust me, having more lumina equipped will absolutely make the game easier

Also don’t be scared to use recoats to respec your characters, you can get plenty of recoats. Try out different skills as some of them are more useful than others.

If you’re struggling to strike first in combat equip first strike lumina on all characters. That lumina pretty much becomes mandatory in late game as even with all the speed modifiers stacked you still might not start first.

Also invest points into agility. Agility is the main stat for speed and speed dictates how often you can attack.
