If they would use lidar you would get speed and distance from surrounding objects, which seems like valuable data for a moving object. With cameras you get a 2d picture that can only guestimate distance using multiple cameras and software.
I think the selling point is that it is less distracting because the black and white eink display does not support videos or social media doom scrolling.
Windows for home consumers/home PCs hopefully.
Where does the coffee come out?
Bro, do you really want to ruin tech bros because they would suddenly have to PAY for the data they use? Mark and Jeff would have to sell some of their yachts and Private jets to afford paying fair prices for AI data!
Running a business sounds like something an Excel table could do so much better…
It’s late, but earlier late!
I would stay away from ChatGpt for translations, at least for English to German. In the latest iOS demo the live translation had “i need your help organizing my wedding” translated into German “i need you for my wedding”. I have seen other examples with Chinese scam shops Auto translated which always stick out. Same with some games where the texts sometimes don’t make sense.
A second reason for growing Internet energy consumption is that we spend more and more time on-line. Before the arrival of portable computing devices and wireless network access, we were only connected to the network when we had access to a desktop computer in the office, at home, or in the library. We now live in a world in which no matter where we are, we are always on-line, including, at times, via more than one device simultaneously.
While I agree with the point, i would like to remind everyone about the insane amount of news papers and print magazines that where produced, printed, shipped, read once and then discarded, especially up to the early 2000s before paper sales started to tank. I think it’s muchore effective and cheaper to transfer this content via the Internet instead.
The Australian mobile network was CB radio until 2015.
Great; i hate people!
