Orderly and regular immigration remains essential to the economies, cultures, and demographic futures of industrialised societies. The real challenge is to better manage migration’s externalities: ensuring affordable housing, investing in infrastructure, supporting social cohesion, and maintaining trust in public institutions.

It is so ironic that we can’t manage the problem we created ourselves by destabilizing large parts of the world (bombing, dismantling elected governments, sanctions just to name a few).
The rich don’t care and tell us not to aswell. 🤢
Immigrants caused the earthquake!
Immigrants kicked my dog and fucked my wife!
I think a lot of the hate is down to population and demographic changes. Since I was born the world has more than doubled in population. You know the world isn’t what it was and it’s going downhill in many ways. You look around to see what’s different. Sure is a whole lot of “others” around, more than ever! Used to be mostly “us”.
Funny thing is, I’m not sure the haters understand this, at least not on the broad level I outlined. We need to take this hate and dissatisfaction and turn it towards the wealthy, the real cause of our problems.
