This isn’t really a big news story, Bernie has been doing this pretty consistently. Yes, he was doing it under Biden too. Yes, this is purely performative, it won’t have enough votes. No, this isn’t antisemitic.

it’s not just performative. Just because something isn’t gonna work, doesn’t mean you still shouldn’t take a stand. Morality isn’t something you can turn off and on depending on how useful it is.

You can support Israel’s right to exist while still condemning the genocide and other human rights abuses that they commit. These things are not mutually exclusive.

"You can support Nazi Germany’s right to exist while still condemning the Holocaust

This statement is fully comparable without any exaggeration.

It is mutually exclusive. Anyone who supports the existence of an Apartheid built on genocide supports genocide. There are no its and buts.

And Palestine still exists after Israel will be dismantled.

Nazi Germany entailed half of Europe by the way. The Nazis occupying Poland were booted out to their country of origin.

That’s just a bad-faith, black-and-white view. Nazi Germany had the right to exist, but they didn’t have the right to invade other countries, exterminate Jews, Romani, gay people, etc. It’s not the existence of the state, or even the beliefs of the people running the state, but the actions that matter.

You can be the most racist, homophobic, misogynist Christian asshole in the world, and as long as you don’t act on your beliefs, it’s not a problem.

If Israel ceases it’s genocidal actions, and ceases treating Palestinians like sub-humans, then there’s no issue.

Israel is a foundational Apartheid state and system. It is rotten from the core. Like the Nazis. It has no right to exist in the first place. Israel is in its essence rape, murder pillaging and theft.

If Palestinians allow it then these “Israelis” can live in Palestine after the dismantling of the Apartheid. If not the right of return has long been granted to all colonists. Even to their Arab countries of origin.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there really aren’t many countries in the world that aren’t founded on murder and oppression. It is not, IMO, reasonable to hold decendants responsible for the crimes that their grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, etc. committed, but it is reasonable to hold them responsible for what they’re doing right now.

Criticisms is right there in your quote.

Biden did a fine job as president except for two little things. Gaza and Marrick Garland.

As to supporting Biden, no shit he did. At the time, Biden was the president and had been elected via primary as the Nominee. And as we know from recent history, not supporting the democratic nominee means that the Republican wins.

No, Biden did terrible overall. A highlight would be making it illegal for railroad workers to strike. His foreign policy was awful as well, not just Palestine.

Bernie had the following to start a new party, but is likely being blackmailed or bribed to keep people in the “Democratic” party.

“Now that Trump is in office. Bernie ignored the children being bombed in Gaza for the past 16 months because he is a Democrat shill. ”

In what you read in the articles is he ignoring the children being bombed? Both instances dating back two years addresses bombing that would affect children.

I think what they’ve done is far more than merely defending themselves.

Yes, Hamas is evil and did heinous things to the Israeli people, but the response was disproportionate and targeted civilians. Even the lowest estimates show that one in every fifty people in Gaza have been killed, and that number includes mostly women and children, not combatants. Heck, other estimates show nearly double that death toll.

And let’s not even start on the forced displacement of almost a million (!!!) people.

Oh yeah, I’m using very low numbers (ie. just the bodies who have been identified) so there’s little room for argument. The actual death toll is unknowable because it’s so large.
