Someone else already replied, but I personally consider centrism as the whole middle range of the dial, so to speak, and not just the point directly in its “middle.” So if someone is a corporate apologist and they maybe have some socially lefty views but then they regularly bag on actual leftists and espouse “abundance” that’s basically a handout to real estate developers instead of actually addressing wealth inequality—then I consider them a centrist.
