Western European here, I’m just happy Americans living here are finally getting off their high horse and realize maybe the USA isn’t the best at everything.

We’ve never been the best, and some weird race to prove who is the best is a waste of time. I hate it here.

Exactly! There’s no need for competition, but they (blanket statement) always made it about “oh it’s like that here, but in the USA…”.

That’s right, it can even be interesting to make comparisons and hear people’s viewpoints. Unfortunately it was very often from an attitude of not knowing why we wouldn’t do it like the USA does it, cuz that works so well. Those conversations get tiring after a while.

As a European/American, I know how fucked things are, that’s why I’m here now, not there, and never moving back. Those Americans drank the cool aid.

Don’t worry, we are also the best at blaming anyone else for our problem. This will be quickly forgotten and/or blamed on liberals, Chinese communists or the phase of the moon.

Logic didn’t get us into this situation and it sure as hell isn’t getting us out!

If it was, why would they live in western Europe? My country has its flaws, but out of all the places I’ve visited or even lived, it’s the place I think is doing stuff the best. If it wasn’t, I would move elsewhere. No way I would move away from what I percieve as the best country in the world. That’s just dumb.

Don’t get the started on the mental gymnastics of those Americans. They bitch and whine about how people don’t treat them the same as the locals, even though after 5 years they speak know only the absolute basics of the local language.

I don’t know how they justify it, but they seem to think being American puts them above other cultures by default.

I do, so why would someone move from the supposedly “greatest country on earth”, to somewhere else if it’s so difficult and expensive?

They wouldn’t. I was commenting on the fact that you said you’d move if you didn’t like your country best

I would. Granted, I am fairly privileged and live better than a lot of people, so that is mainly a comment for myself.

I am assuming you are Danish from your instance. In any case, don’t you realize that the only reason you could just move countries is that you already won the jackpot? Yes, you are quite privileged. Many Americans would love to live in Denmark. I know I would. It’s far from an easy option and pretty much means I’d not see my family except maybe once every year or two

I’ve personally not seen a single conservative recognize or admit that their policies hurt themselves. At most, ONE of them said things might get a little tougher for a while, but we’ll be better off in the end. I’m surrounded by these idiots. They’re hopelessly lost.
