For me… yea that’s gonna be a challenge. I’m glad a text-based social platform exist, I hate talking. Maybe I’d just use morse code…?

It comes up every once in a while in therapy.

In case you’re interested: The problem for me is that I can’t see the other person’s face so I have trouble judging their reactions. Are they mad at me, are they confused by what I said, are they joking around? When in doubt, I tend to default to the worst possibility so I’m constantly on the defense. That’s what’s exhausting about it. It’s a little easier with friends and family because I can of course interpret their voices more easily but I still don’t enjoy it. I know it’s not “normal” but it’s also not something that’s going to change anytime soon.

Sucks you’re affected badly by this. I think those of us that grew up before texting and IM don’t have this problem so badly. It doesn’t bother me and I’ve got serious anxiety issues. I can talk on the phone with bosses, whatever, but sending me a text that says “We need to talk” with no follow-up is such a dick move.
