Summary

The Trump administration plans to revoke temporary legal status for 240,000 Ukrainians who fled Russia’s war, fast-tracking them for deportation.

The move is part of a broader effort to strip protections from 1.8 million migrants admitted under Biden’s humanitarian parole programs.

Trump’s policies also target 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Legal challenges are mounting, as affected individuals face uncertain futures. Advocates warn that even U.S. allies, such as Afghans who assisted the military, are now at risk of detention and deportation.

I’m glad we can end in a more amicable place. I just encourage you to maybe think about the fact that you are on a growing platform with a lot of people who are probably not as involved as they could be. So maybe lean more on encouragement than snark and discouragement. That’s all.

I get it, mostly along the lines of the fact that the time for joking about this is over. It’s really not funny anymore, and I didn’t mean to offend or discourage. I just wish there was a big enough fire lit under more Americans rearends before the social security payments stop and yeah, I don’t want to think about what that means right now.

You’re right it’s pretty fucking gloomy here. I haven’t even been able to listen to political podcast or anything lately because it’s just so everywhere right now and my mental health is getting obliterated between that and raising young kids. I am still involved but it’s very overwhelming right now so I have mostly had to settle for financial support and keeping my ear to the ground for opportunities to get out there with my camera or edit some stuff together for organizations.
