Greenland is part of the kingdom of Denmark. Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland have a long standing mutual defence pact separate from NATO. A direct confrontation with the United States navy would be foolish, so guerilla warfare would be a lot more beneficial. Unless Britain and France get involved of course. That would alter things somewhat.
I mean a long protracted conflict which the us will eventually back out of without having anything to show for it except a massive bill for destroyed equipment and a giant pr problem.
Is there a reason why you suggest “various Scandinavian special forces” and a guerilla war? I find this perhaps a little far-fetched.

Yea, Vietnam had three Viet Kong hiding amongst the population and in caves in a dense jungle. Not ‘hiding on an ice sheet’.
