I noticed two kinds of comments I sometimes make always attract unwanted attention:
-
anything around meat attracts downvoting from furious militant vegans
-
anything where I ask how to stop mobile phone updates always attracts some cabbage brain asking “why don’t you want updates” and then downvotes from human sheep if I reply
I love when I ask a question and every comment is everything but an answer.
Yes, that’s pissing me off. I remember a post (not sure if here or on Reddit) where I asked which mobile phone brand does not force updates and I specifically asked for fanbois of forced updates not to reply - just for some moron replying straight away “whydontyouwantupdatesyadayadayada”
Then they will shill linux, saying it doesn’t force updates.

It will probably be this one
:(
Probably this: https://lemmy.world/post/3234363
You can find most disliked posts, by browsing all and sorting by controversial.
Unfortunately, controversial isn’t a “bottom” filter, like top is.
Added one more to the pile
Ha apparently I downvoted that when it happened
Damn. That might be the most votes I’ve seen on any post, period.
Any particular reason you’re looking for this, or just curiosity?
Curiosity.
Anytime I post about AI or LLMs I get aggressively downvoted.
I do not do it very often and when I do it usually a gee whiz, look at that post. Inevitably the response is AI slop!!! AI is bad, you are bad , you should feel bad.
What you have to understand is that Lemmy is full of tech people who are bombarded with “AI is the future” messaging all day long. And implicit in all of that is layoffs for tech workers and enshitification for everyone else.
Seeing a reaction without context is always going to look irrational. People know that AI has it’s uses and can even be pretty neat. But what it’s being sold as is a gigantic lie that’s going to hurt people.
Same, the irrational hatred of AI some peeps have is just crazy
